Local help and support

Your GP

Your GP should be your first point of call for any non-emergency medical concerns including mental health.

After speaking to you about your concerns, your GP will be able to signpost you to appropriate services.

Talk Together Bromley

A range of free and confidential talking therapies and support for adults over the age of 18 in the borough of Bromley, who are registered with a Bromley GP.

You can refer yourself – call 0300 003 3000 or complete an online self-referral form.

Bromley Well

Support is available for adults and their families who may be experiencing mild concerns relating to their emotional and mental wellbeing.

Bromley Well provide information and advice, and peer support.

You can refer yourself – call 0300 330 9039 or email spa@bromleywell.org.uk.

Other help and support

Self-referral

The NHS offer a range of services and treatments for mental health, some of which do not require a GP referral, such as psychological therapies, also called talking therapies.

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust

Secondary mental health services and support including:

  • community mental health
  • crisis resolution
  • telephone support

Samaritans

Call the Samaritans for free on 116 123 for 24 hour support. They also offer support by email, letter and face-to-face.

Getting help in a mental health crisis

Accident and Emergency

In an emergency you should go to the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department of your local hospital.

Mental Health Crisis Line

The crisis line from Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust provides an opportunity to talk to a mental health professional about your mental health crisis and provides advice and information for carers, family and friends who may know someone experiencing a mental health crisis.
